This fund (official program name pending), along with our other interventions, provides comprehensive support for arts and STEM startups, both for-profit and nonprofit, that center Black, Indigenous, and Latine communities. For example, the majority of STEM startups and small businesses are for-profit and tend to seek traditional funding such as venture capital. With the combination of our incubator-style Fellowship program and its accompanying curriculum and our culturally relevant and expert technical assistance, we are uniquely positioned to provide a deeply integrated CDFI.
Our loan program will support a dual for-profit/nonprofit development model that makes coalescing the needs of racially marginalized communities in future scientific and technological progress a core component of the business rather than an afterthought.
This page will be updated as we get closer to offering loans!
